A. How did public schools deal with religious observance and education in centuries and decades past?
B. How has the judiciary dealt with issues of religion in the public schools, particularly in the 20th and 21st Centuries?
1. Establishment Clause and Establishment Tests (Lemon Test, Endorsement Test)
2. Prayer, Worship and Ceremonial Deism
3. Creationism/Intelligent Design
4. Distribution of Religious Literature
5. Release Time and Religious Instruction
6. Religious and Holiday Displays
7. The law and it's affect on teachers, ie fired for teaching evolution, told to take off cross necklace etc.
II. Where are we now?
A. Is there a universally applicable standard that can advise school leaders in cases where religion crosses paths with public schools?
B. Why teach about religion in the classroom? Importance in history and contemporary society.
